17 September 2022: This is the one hundred and fifteenth mixtape by the Funky Soul Burner. Amaya & Karu take over the Funky Soul Burner again, and will continue to do so every fifth mix. This is the Venom Blood Mix – championing the complexity of the villain character in order to better understand and embrace the light.
The Funky Soul Burner is back with the second installment of the NexGen series, a mixtape produced by kids for the newer generation. This mix features a diverse range of musical styles, from hip hop to rock to pop, and is sure to appeal to a broad audience.
Kicking things off is Little Simz’s “Venom,” setting the tone for the mix with its hard-hitting beat and powerful lyrics. From there, the mix moves into more upbeat territory with Willy William’s “Ego (Willy William Remix)” and Benzz’s “Je M’applle [Remix],” featuring Mig.
Other standout tracks include Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Go Robot,” Cage the Elephant’s “Come a Little Closer,” and Twenty One Pilots’ “Stressed Out.” These tracks, along with the rest of the mix, showcase the range of styles and sounds that make up the NexGen series.
